Shimla is the former summer capital of British India and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is blessed with natural beauty and a spectacular view of the Himalayas. It is surrounded by green hills and snow-capped mountains. There are several historical buildings constructed during the colonial era which give the town a distinct aura, quite different from all other hill stations.
Shimla is ideally located as it is connected through air services and the UNESCO World Heritage Rail Line made in 1903. However, it is best reached by road that takes in the charms of the mountain countryside.
